week 1(valley, MashUp)

The valley of Zhangjiajie in China,Hunan province

MashUp

Architecture without corners or abrupt transitions that break the fluidity of its formal composition,  create fluid relationship between its surrounding and the building’s interior. These relationships became the framework of the design, defining how different aspects of the project, such as spatial organization, programmatic requirements, and engineering come together.   By aspiring instead to express the culture of a nation that looks to the future, create a world of continuous mutual adaptation and fluid movement between each building, which important link between the city’s contemporary culture, historic artefacts and emerging nature. Breaks from the rigid, create an internal world of continuous open spaces.

Layer construction of the staircase indicates the way to heaven, god. The unclosed space emphasis to highlight the connection of the building and its surrounding environment.
The long horizontal inbetween space contrast the vertical pillar, giving a sense of infinity just like the god is untouchable, unseeable and far away from human.

The environment of this picture separated by the horizon line as 2 parts, one with the vertical pillar and the sky, another with the long horizontal staircase and ground. Those 2 parts connect and contrast each other and unite the atmosphere of building and nature.
